canadian cell phone plans
canadian cell phone plans

As a Canadian can I purchase a cell phone and pre-paid cellular service in USA for a six week period?
We will be travelling by car through Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada on our way for a 4 week stay in Phoenix in the winter. Don’t know much about the US cellular system. We want to avoid expensive roaming charges so we won’t be using our Canadian cell phone. [Telus]
Does Verizon or any other company have a national pre-paid plan that we can get to avoid roaming charges as we travel through these states and during our stay in the Phoenix area?
As a Canadian can I purchase pre-paid service in Helena Montana for a six week period?
Also as a Canadian, can I purchase phone and services on-line prior to our departure?
Thanks
Stop at almost any pharmacy and buy a tracfone for anywhere from $10 to $16. You buy units as you need them. I am in a program that gives me double units for the same price, but I use mine a lot.
They also have an international calling plan that makes calls to about 65 countries including Canada count as local calls and you can also get up to two more numbers for the same phone so that friends and family in either Canada or Mexico can call you as a local call.
If you would like more information, you can contact me or check tracfone.com
