Changing cell phone company and advice?

T-Mobile I have right now and I have had many problems with dropped calls and poor reception with them and we are willing change until the contract ends. It's just me and my father and that both phones use very basic functionality but I want one with a keyboard. Our plan is now shared with 1.000 minutes unlimited text messages. We were thinking about Verizon, but I'm also curious about the phones without a contract for retailers like Wal-Mart and others. Can someone tell me the quality of reception, etc., and telephone service from Walmart a major cellular carrier? All tips on phones and providers? Thank you!

Try prepaid before decide on the carrier. Verizon is too expensive. Boost and Sprint are good business and a lot att prepaid.
