Are there no-contract cell phone plans that can be used across Europe? If so, how much do they cost?
I’ll be traveling all around Europe later this year. I won’t need to call home to North America much; I’ll mostly use the phone to call other European numbers. Here are a few things I’m wondering:
Do you need to buy different cards/service for each country? How much do the phones and service cost, roughly? Should I buy a phone before I go?

I’m pretty sure AAA will let you rent a phone for this situation. If not, pick up a Vodophone or T-Mobile pre-paid at the airport/local area. Ask the seller for what you want and they’ll be able to set you up with the best plan. You do NOT want to buy a phone here though, because they need to be unlocked and that may be an issue. You can probably get a prepaid for around 20 Euro. Just depends what kind of phone you’ll want.
