Ringtones for Phones

Do they have wireless connection phones? Voicemail? Text messaging? If I’m at school or a bar where they have password protected wirless can i still login my username and password to access their internet? How would it work where places like mcdonalds or starbucks that charge for their wireless internet? How big are they ? From pictures they look the size of home landline portable phones? Please enlighten me, beacuse i was thinking everywhere i go there is a wireless connection, I have wireless at home , work, and school, so why even pay for service from a regular cell phone provider like verizon att etc?
