am i allowed to upgrade t-mobile phones under contract? how much will it cost me?
i have a sidekick LX. T-mobile just came out with a 2009(newer) version, with completely new features of course.
since i still have a little more than a year left with my original contract, would it be possible for me to upgrade with just a small fee or will i have to cancel the contract that exists?
i was thinking of just claiming my phone stolen and selling it for cash to upgrade since that’s about what i did to cancel Verizon’s plan and switch to t-mobile.. HA. what, cell phone companies are complete scams anyways..way to expensive.
anyways, yes i love my sidekick, and no, i will not switch carrier’s! $65 a month for everything i need AND MORE in a phone is completely worth it to me! <3
If you wait til you’re 12 months into your contract, you should be able to upgrade buy the LX 2009 for a discounted price (though probably not the “new” customer price) and then sell your current LX on eBay.
I do NOT recommend claiming your phone stolen for both your sake and of the person who would buy the “stolen” phone. Most cell companies track stolen phones by the IMEI and blacklist them so if somebody is caught using them, it could result in legal action for that person and/or the person who sold them the phone. What you did is also fraud and is also punishable by law. Not trying to scold you, just give you a fair heads up of what could happen.
