Back in the dark ages before cell phones people used the white pages or the operator to locate phone numbers but as we’ve moved into the information age things have changed. Cellular phones are everywhere.
But, unfortunately there is no free database or reference to lookup a person’s cell phone. The cell phone carriers want to protect the privacy of their customers and thus they do not give out that information.
However, the carriers decided that people could pay a small fee in order to get someone’s number. This keeps the scammers and sales people from getting the numbers but legitimate people can:
- check their kids cell phones
- find out who’s calling in the middle of the night
- find out who’s pranking them
- see who’s calling their husband/wife
- etc, etc, etc
I could write a very exhaustive list here, but you get the picture, right? The general public has access, but at a small cost in order to keep the spammers away.
Do you realize why these website directories have to charge a fee? They have to because they are basically buying the information from the carrier, they need to charge to make a profit. Anybody who tells who there is a free cell phone lookup directory is lying to you.
Watch Out For Scams!
Please don’t get suckered into using a scammy website. As a wife, a mother, and a home owner I realize the need for fast information, but it’s got to be right and there ain’t no free lunch.
